RecruiTIME Assistant: privacy

In short: the assistant types your own saved details into the job application form you opened from RecruiTIME, inside your own browser. It never presses Submit, never sends your details anywhere itself, and forgets them when you close the browser.

Saving a job from another site

When you press Save to RecruiTIME on a job page (the button on Naukri, LinkedIn, Indeed and similar job sites, or Save this job in the assistant’s menu on any other site), the assistant reads that one page: the job details the page publishes for search engines (schema.org JobPosting) or, when there are none, the job title, company, location and description shown on the page. It reads nothing before you press the button, and never reads other tabs, your messages, your profile on that site or anything you type.

The saved job waits in this browser (Chrome’s local storage, at most 30 jobs, for at most 14 days) until you open RecruiTIME signed in; the RecruiTIME page then adds it to your saved jobs and the assistant deletes its copy. The assistant itself never sends the job anywhere else. Forget my details and saved jobs in the assistant’s menu clears them at once.

What the assistant does

When you apply to a job on recruitime.org and the employer’s Greenhouse or Lever application form opens inside RecruiTIME, the assistant fills that form with your details and attaches your resume. You check the form, answer anything it left for you, and press the employer’s Submit button yourself.

What it uses

The details RecruiTIME shows you in the Apply panel: your name, email, phone number, city, current company and title, LinkedIn, GitHub and portfolio links, years of experience, and the answers you saved and approved (for example notice period or expected salary).
Your resume file, when you have one in RecruiTIME.

These come from the RecruiTIME page you are signed in to. The assistant does not read anything else on your computer, in your browser, or on other websites.

Where your details go

Only into the application form on jobs.lever.co, job-boards.greenhouse.io or boards.greenhouse.io that RecruiTIME is showing you, or that you opened from RecruiTIME a moment earlier.
The employer receives them only when you press their Submit button.
The assistant itself sends nothing to RecruiTIME’s servers or to anyone else. It tells the RecruiTIME page you are on how many details it filled, which questions are still empty, and when the employer’s “thank you” page appears — not what you typed. RecruiTIME uses that to move you to your next job and to mark the job as sent in your application tracker.

What it never does

It never presses Submit or sends an application for you.
It never answers questions about gender, pronouns, race or ethnicity, disability, veteran status, age, consent, marketing opt-ins, referrals or relatives. Those are always yours to answer.
It does not sell, share or use your details for advertising, and it has no analytics or tracking.

How long it keeps your details

Only in your browser’s memory (Chrome’s session storage), for the RecruiTIME tab that sent them. They are never used after two hours, and they are removed when you close that tab or the browser, or straight away when you press Forget my details now in the assistant’s menu.

Permissions it asks for

Storage — to hold your details in memory while you apply, and the jobs you saved until RecruiTIME picks them up.
Active tab and scripting — to read the job on the page you are looking at, only when you press Save this job in the assistant’s menu.
Naukri, LinkedIn, Indeed, Foundit, Glassdoor, Shine, Instahyre, iimjobs, Hirist, Wellfound, Cutshort, Internshala — to show the Save to RecruiTIME button on their job pages and read the job when you press it.
recruitime.org — to receive your details from the Apply panel and tell it what was filled.
jobs.lever.co, job-boards.greenhouse.io, boards.greenhouse.io — to fill the application forms on those sites.

Your data on RecruiTIME

Your RecruiTIME account data is covered by RecruiTIME’s own terms. You can change or delete the details the assistant uses in your RecruiTIME profile at any time.
